James "Zeke" Zedalis

A three-sport athlete, Zedalis lettered in football, basketball, and baseball in each of his three years at MMA (Maine Maritime was a three-year school until the mid 1960’s). He was captain of the football and baseball teams his senior year.  In football he played left end on both offense and defense.  In baseball he consistently averaged in the high .300’s with a career-high-season average of .412.  A forward on the basketball team, his strengths were rebounding and defense.  He was described by one teammate as, “the best three-sport athlete I and many others ever saw at Maine Maritime”.
