ANNAPOLIS, Md.--The Maine Maritime Academy men's and women's swimming & diving teams concluded the 2025 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy at Lejeune Hall on Sunday. The men set a program record with a three-day total of 63 points for 15th place out of 22 schools, tripling the previous best of 21 points at the 2023 ECAC Championships. The women finished with 11 points for 21st place.
Maine Maritime diving recorded its first-ever ECAC podium finishes with two on the men's side and one on the women's. Junior
Oliver Cox was the runner-up in 3-meter diving and third in 1m. Senior
Natasha Kopeck finished in eighth place in 1m with 149.6 points.
"I am incredibly proud of the divers and what they have accomplished over the last season. Their dedication to the sport, as well as their commitment to the Mariner team has been both inspiring and humbling," stated Mariners head coach
Tony DeMuro. They have done it all without a real diving coach and their improvement throughout the season has been proof of their dedication to their craft."
The Navy men won the team title with 850 points, while the Bucknell edged Navy, 647-616, for the women's crown. Maine Maritime was the third-highest ranked NCAA Division III program behind Baruch (76 points) and Norwich (73) after leading the first two days of competition.
