Mariners Land a Dozen on the Little East Conference All-Academic Teams

Women's swimming & diving had seven honorees while the men's side had five

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – With 12 student athletes, the Maine Maritime Academy women's and men's swimming & diving programs were well represented on the Little East Conference Winter 2024-25 All-Academic Team that was announced on Wednesday by the LEC office.

Here are the Maine Maritime honorees, including seven from the women's side and five on the men's:

To be named the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.
 
The LEC's All-Academic Teams are announced following the conclusion of their respective championship seasons. In all, 342 student-athletes from four other LEC championship winter sports--men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field--earned their place with this award.

This is in addition to the LEC Academic Honor Roll that was released at the end of January in which 22 MMA representatives were named after obtaining a fall semester 3.00 GPA or better.
