Maine Maritime Climbs Two Spots to Finish Fifth at LEC Championships

The Mariners recorded 305 points to end up in the upper-echelon of the 11-school event

WELLESLEY, Mass. --The Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming and diving team climbed two spots to finish in fifth place at the 2025 Little East Conference Championships hosted at the Boston Sports Institute on Sunday. The Mariners, who are in their first season as an LEC affiliate member in the sport, totaled 305 points during the four-day event that featured 11 schools.

Junior Rayelle Brewer had MMA's best finish today in the 100-yard freestyle in fourth (56.72 seconds).

Keene State College (779 points) edged Bridgewater (Mass.) State University (704) for the women's team crown. Maine Maritime had been in seventh place the previous two days.

Next Saturday, Maine Maritime returns to the state of Maine and will compete in the Husson University Last Chance meet on Saturday (noon) in Bangor.
