Spaulding wins NAC Championship, men’s cross country finishes third

BANGOR, Maine — Maine Maritime Academy sophomore William Spaulding captured medalist honors at the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday.

Spaulding clocked an impressive time of 27:42.80 to win the meet by more than 30 seconds and lead the Mariners to a third-place team finish.

Senior Cooper Parlee finished ninth overall with a time of 29:19.57 to earn Second Team All-Conference honors, while freshman Owen Dawson placed 15th with a time of 30:41.85.

Sophomore Caden Dussault (30:50.04) and junior Logan Serpico (31:33.65) followed close behind, and senior Kaden Horner rounded out MMA's top six with a 32:08.52 to place inside the top 20.

Also competing for the Mariners were freshman Asher Michalski, junior John McBane, freshman Daniel Soma, and senior Jonathan Manning.

Maine Maritime closes out its season at the NCAA East Regionals on Nov. 15 at the Hopkinton Fair Ground in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
