WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference announced its men's cross country pre-championship coaches' poll on Thursday and Maine Maritime Academy tied for the second spot.
The Mariners finished with 38 points, tying Thomas College for second while the University of Maine at Farmington was picked as the championship favorite with 45 points and six-first place votes.
Husson University earned the remaining first-place tally finishing fourth with 29 points, followed by Lesley University (21 points), the University of Maine at Presque Isle (18 points) and Vermont State University Lyndon (seven points).
The Mariners compete at the NAC championship meet on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Saxl Park in Bangor.
