Mariners Fall in First Round of the NCAA Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Maine Maritime women's volleyball fell to Susquehanna University, 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-16) on Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Dlll Volleyball Tournament.

Susquehanna's quick offense led the day as they hit .399 against the Mariners. With this loss, the Mariners conclude their season with a 19-7 record, while Susquehanna improves to 23-6 overall and will advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Inside the Numbers: Rachel Melampy (Marshfield, Mass.) led the Mariners with 11 kills, nine digs, and one service ace. Katie Albritton (Hutto, Texas) recorded a game-high 18 assists, three digs, and one kill, while Sydney Rich (Williamsburg, Va.) tallied 15 digs.

Susquehanna was led by Rosina Esposito with a game-high 18 kills, six digs, three aces, and one assist, while teammate Lizzie Herestofa tallied 17 digs, two assists, and on ace.
