Maine Maritime Academy

Cedric Gillette has served as the head coach of the Maine Maritime Academy Men's Basketball program since Sept. of 2024 and led the Mariners to the North Atlantic Conference Tournamanet Quarterfinals in his first season. 

Prior to Maine Maritime, Gillette served as an assistant coach at Merrimack College from 2022-24, working as a graduate assistant coach for the 2022-23 season and an assistant during the 2023-24 year. As a graduate assistant, Gillette helped Merrimack sweep the Northeast Conference regular-season and tournament championships and helped Merrimack finish as the top points per possession team in conference history. Additionally, during the 2023-24 season, Gillette guided Merrimack to a share of the regular-season NEC title and saw multiple players earn postseason awards including conference player, defensive player and rookie of the year. 

A five-year member of the Merrimack baseball team as a starting pitcher. Gillette earned his Bachelor of Arts in politial science in 2022 and his master's degree in management in 2024.
