CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy football program announced Thursday the addition of Dominic Bourne as its new defensive line coach.

"Dominic is a great addition to our staff and brings a combination of energy, knowledge, and a willingness to work that fits exactly what we're looking for," head football coach Nick Sheehan said. "He has a strong understanding of the game and, just as importantly, knows how to connect with and develop young men. As we continue to build this program, having coaches who are hungry to improve and who believe in what we're doing at Maine Maritime is extremely important. I'm excited about what Dominic can bring to our players and to our program."

Bourne arrives in Castine after working as a defensive line coach at Tampa Catholic High School since 2024 and was a junior varsity defensive line coach at Jesuit High School from 2022-24.

"I'm incredibly excited to join the Maine Maritime Academy football program and be part of a staff that is committed to developing young men on and off the field," Bourne said. "I'm looking forward to building strong relationships with our players, helping them grow as athletes and leaders, and contributing to a culture built on discipline, accountability and toughness. Most importantly, I'm excited to be here, compete and help this program continue to move forward."

A native of Tampa, Bourne earned his Bachelor of Science in sport & event management from Elon University in 2017.

Additionally, Bourne played collegiate football at Elon as a defensive lineman from 2013-16.
