Men’s basketball unveils upcoming 2025-26 slate

CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball team announced its upcoming 2025-26 schedule on Monday, featuring 25 games and 12 home contests.

"There's a real excitement around this group," said head men's basketball coach Cedric Gillette. "We're young, we're hungry, and we're ready to compete. Our schedule was built intentionally to challenge us early—to push us, expose our strengths and weaknesses, and help us grow together as a team. We're embracing every test and every opportunity to continue to raise the standard of MMA basketball. Great Days Only."

Maine Maritime opens its 2025-26 season at home on Nov. 8 against the University of New England before traveling to Amherst, Massachusetts, on Nov. 14-15 for the Ken Wright Invitational Tournament.

North Atlantic Conference play begins on Nov. 21 at home against SUNY Delhi and continues on Nov. 22 against SUNY Cobleskill.

Following Cobleskill, the Mariners travel to Colby College on Dec. 2, Lesley University on Dec. 5, and Thomas College on Dec. 6 before hosting the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Dec. 13.

MMA tangles with Bates College on Dec. 17 and closes the 2025 portion of its schedule at home against the University of Southern Maine on Dec. 30.

The Mariners kick off the 2026 portion of their schedule with four straight home games—against Bowdoin College on Jan. 1, Vermont State University Johnson on Jan. 5, Vermont State University Lyndon on Jan. 6, and the University of Maine at Farmington on Jan. 10.

Following Farmington, MMA travels to New York for back-to-back matchups against SUNY Cobleskill on Jan. 16 and SUNY Delhi on Jan. 17.

Maine Maritime battles UMPI on Jan. 23 and Husson University on Jan. 24 before hosting back-to-back home games against Thomas on Jan. 30 and Lesley on Jan. 31.

The month of February begins with a trip to Vermont for games against Lyndon on Feb. 6 and Johnson on Feb. 7 before hosting Husson on Feb. 10 and traveling to Farmington on Feb. 14 for the regular-season finale.
