Visiting WPI Engineers Shut Out Men's Soccer, 4-0

CASTINE--Visiting Worcester Polytechnic Institute scored three times in the first half en route to a 4-0 win over Maine Maritime Academy in non-conference men's soccer action at Ritchie Field on Wednesday night. The Engineers improve to 8-2-4 on the season while Maine Maritime now sits at 5-7-1 overall.

How It Happened
  • WPI outshot MMA 26 to 3, including 11-2 on goal, and the Engineers also led in corner kicks, 5-0.
  • In the 20th minute, Vaz opened the scoring with his sixth goal, unassisted, after a corner kick when he pounced on a bad clear and slotted the goal into the lower right-corner.
  • Ito added an insurance goal 7 minutes and 32 seconds later on a centering feed from Vaz.
