GORHAM, Maine – Maine Maritime volleyball earns a Saturday sweep with two 3-0 wins over Rhode Island College and the University of Southern Maine.

Game One vs Rhode Island College

Against Rhode Island College the Mariners scored the first point with a Hunie Zuber-Stephens ace. She was one of three players leading the way with two aces.
Grace Jennings and
Sydney Williams also had two a-piece. The Mariners won the first set 25-21. The Mariners opened up set two with a kill by
Ila Smith and a service ace from Zuber-Stephens.
Sydney Williams, who led all Mariners with 15 kills, string together two kills scoring points five and six. The Mariners earned the last five points to secure the set win 21-25. The final set for the Mariners was back and forth with four lead changes throughout the first 11 points. MMA won the set 25-20.

Game Two vs University of Southern Maine

In game two of the day versus the University of Southern Maine, the Mariners started strong once again in their first set, scoring the first three points off of two
Chloe Weeks kills and a service ace buy
Hunnie Zuber-Stephens.
Ila Smith, who led all players with 16 kills strung together back to back kills for points 11 and 12 of the set. The final from set one was 25-23. The second set was a close battle with seven lead changes in the first 12 points. Smith had back to back kills for points 12 and 13 that helped the Mariners take back their lead that they held the rest of the match.
Ally Hadley secured the last kill that helped the Mariners win the set 25-17.

The Mariners came out in the final set scoring the first four points.
Katie Albritton, who led the Mariners with 29 assists had the assists on the first two kills of the set as well as getting as kill for the third point.
Makenna Middleton who led the team with three service aces, earned all three at the end of the final set for the last three points. The final score of set three was 25-11.
