PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed three runners inside the top-five, to claim their fourth-consecutive title at the UMPI Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
Ponce Saltysiak (Bar Harbor, Maine) paced the Mariners in the season debut, finishing second overall on the 6k course with a time of 21:32.89. Senior
John Hassett (Castine, Maine) finished just behind Saltysiak in third place, with a time of 22:18.34. Freshman
Cooper Parlee (Brewer, Maine) finished in fourth placed in his collegiate debut for the Mariners, with a time of 22:33.61.

William Procko (Branford, Fla.) finished in sixth, with a time of 22:58.01 and freshman
Theodore Zinox (Highland Park, Ill.) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners in seventh place with a time of 23:18.90, in his college debut.
Maine Maritime Academy claimed first place overall with a team score of 22 and a total time of 1:52:41.75. Thomas College finished second with a time of 1:58:58.31. Thomas's Jarrod Hooper was the top finisher with a time of 21:01.00.
Up Next: The Mariners return to action next Saturday, September 10 when they travel to Biddeford, Maine to race in the University of New England Invitational, set for 11:30am.
