BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country team placed seventh at the Bowdoin invitational on Saturday morning.
How it Happened: Senior
Benjamin Butterfield (Phillips, Maine) paced the Mariners on the 8k course, finishing 25
th, with a time of 27:05.8, sophomore
Ponce Saltysiak (Bar Harbor, Maine) finished 37
th, with a time of 27:30.0, while first-year
Cooper Parlee (Brewer, Maine) finished 54
th, with a time of 27:59.2.
Senior
William Procko (Branford, Fla.) placed 71
st, with a time of 28:48.6 and first-year
Theodore Zinox (Highland Park, Ill.) rounded out the top-five Mariners, placing 95
th, with a time of 31:06.0.
Inside the Numbers: Tufts University finished first with a team score of 27 and a total time of 2:08:56, Bowdoin College placed second with a team score of 53 and a total time of 2:11:38, and Suffolk University placed third, with a team score of 92 and a total time of 2:14:44. Tufts University's Walter Wagude claimed the top spot on the day, finishing with a time of 25:09.6. Maine Maritime placed seventh overall, in the 12-team field, with a team score of 190 and a total time of 2:22:29.
