CASTINE, Maine – Megan Durrua (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) set a pair of school records in the 100 yard breaststroke and the 200 yard IM, as the Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming & diving team fell to the University of New England, 177-66 in a virtual dual meet.
- Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) took the top spot in the 1000 yard freestyle (12:44.31), and finished third in the 50 yard butterfly (33.60)
- Durrua claimed the top spot in the 50 yard freestyle (28.22), the 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.71), and second in the 200 yard IM (2:30.55) just behind her twin sister, Katie who swims for UNE
- Kaitlyn Reny (Lewiston, Maine) claimed first in the 100 yard freestyle (1:05.33)
- Tamra Miller (South Thomaston, Maine) placed third in the 200 yard freestyle (2:24.38)
- Ellie Gellerson (Blue Hill, Maine) took third place in the 50 yard breaststroke (37.37)
- The relay team of Durrua, Reny, Miller and Sam Durkin (Green Lane, Penn.) took third in the 200 yard medley (2:12.33)
The Mariners return to action next Friday, March 12, for day one of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Virtual Invitational.
