CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming fell to Norwich University 159-88, on Saturday afternoon in Bok Pool.
Meet Highlights:
- The relay team of Tamra Miller (South Thomaston, Maine), Ellie Gellerson (Blue Hill, Maine), Makena Merideth (Port Angeles, Wash.), and Hannah Butland (Cumberland, Maine) placed second in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 5:03.17, setting a new school record
- Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) won the 1000 yard free with a time of 12:42.71
- Audrey Aragon (Miami, Fla.) finished second in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:22.41
- Miller placed second in the 50 yard back with a time of 34.17
- Gellerson finished second in the 50 yard breast with a time of 37.12, while Avery Nelson (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) placed third with a time of 44.83
- Cook-Sharp set a new school record placing second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:13.89, while Meredith placed third with a time of 1:26.26
- Butland finished third in the 50 yard free with a time of 29.40
- Brooke Foley (Mystic, Conn.) placed third in the 100 yard free with a time of 1:20.34
- Miller won the 100 yard back with a time of 1:12.98, setting a new school record
- Gellerson placed second in the 100 yard breast with a time of 1:23.62, while Aragon placed third with a time of 1:25.07
- Ashlyn Royal (Bucksport, Maine) placed third in the 500 yard free with a time of 8:46.96
- Cook-Sharp finished third in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 31.45
- Miller placed second and set a new school record in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:13.45
- The relay team of Butland, Cook-Sharp, Roxanna MacGregor (Eastport, Maine), and Aragon finished third in the 400 yard free relay with a time of 4:34.10, setting a new school record
The Mariners will return to action on Friday, January 24, when the travel to Plymouth State for a dual meet at 5:00 PM.
