2019 NAC Men's Cross Country Championship Preview

CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country prepares for the 2019 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship on Saturday, November 2 on the campus of Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in Lyndonville, Vermont.

Head Coach Ryan King is leading the Mariners in his ninth season. The Mariners finished second at the 2018 NAC Championship, led by All-Conference runner Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) who placed third overall out of 66 runners. The Mariners return all five of their top five runners from the 2018 NAC Championship, including Wolf. The Mariners have added sophomore John Hassett (Castine, Maine) and first-year Benjamin Butterfield (Phillips, Maine) to the squad, both of whom collected NAC weekly accolades this fall.

This season the squad has been preparing for Championships with a competitive and challenging schedule, and look to improve on their second place finish last season.

The Mariners have been picked to place second in the NAC Men's Cross Country Pre-Championship Poll. Voting for the Pre-Championship Poll was conducted among the league's head men's cross country coaches.
