Looking Ahead to the 2019-20 Season: The Mariners will kick off their season on Friday, October 25 at Husson University before heading to the Louis Goodrum Invitational, hosted by UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, November 2.
Maine Maritime will take on St. Joseph's College of Maine on Friday, November 15 at 5:00 pm, before hitting the road to compete at the Delhi Invitational on Saturday, November 23 and at Western Connecticut State on Sunday, November 24.
The Mariners will compete at the Maine State Meet hosted by Bowdoin College on December 6 and 7 and will open up the new year with a home meet against Norwich on January 18 at 2:00 pm.
The women's team will face Plymouth State on Friday, January 24 and both teams will head to Colby-Sawyer College the following day to face both the Chargers and Gordon College.
Maine Maritime will return home on Wednesday, January 29 to face Husson once again at 5:00 pm, before heading to the NEISDA Championships on February 13-16 at the University of Rhode Island.

The Rosters: The women's team is comprised of swimmers representing five states: Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, and Washington, while the men's team is comprised of swimmers representing seven states: Georgia, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington.
The Coach: Maine native Tony DeMuro was named the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach at Maine Maritime Academy by Director of Athletics, Steve Peed on October 10.
"I couldn't be more thrilled to join the Maine Maritime team as the swim coach," said DeMuro. "This fulfills a lifelong dream of mine and I can't wait to work hand-in-hand with the great faculty and students at MMA."
A 1999 graduate from University of Maine at Orono, DeMuro has served as the head swim coach at Mount Desert Island High School since 2000. While at MDI, DeMuro led the Trojans to a total of 11 state championships, five sportsmanship awards and has been named the Class B Coach of the Year six times.
"I am incredibly excited to be welcoming such an experienced and accomplished coach as Tony into our department, and I love how excited our swimmers are about the opportunity to train under and compete for him," said Peed. "His positive energy and endless enthusiasm will be a great asset for our swimmers, our department, and our campus community. I can't wait to see him on deck developing our athletes as swimmers and aspiring professionals."
DeMuro also served as the assistant YMCA swim coach since 2000, where he mentored kids from the ages of 5-18 and has been the Physical Education teacher at Cranberry Island School since 2017.
Season Opener: The Mariners head to Husson University on Friday to face the Eagles at 5:00 pm.
History against Husson: Last season the men's team fell to Husson, 106-103, while the women's team also fell to the Eagles, 170-50.
