Swimming Falls to Husson

BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy swimming fell to Husson University on Wednesday night at Webber Pool. The men fell to the Eagles 106-103 while the women fell 170-50.

Men's Meet Highlights:

  • The relay team of Joshua Roberts (Saco, Maine), Liam Naturale (Dingman's Ferry, Pa.), Patrick McEneaney (Suffolk, Va.) and Brad Tibbetts (Boothbay Harbor, Maine) took first place in the 200 Yard Medley (1:48.75)
  • McEneaney finished first and set a personal best in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:01.88) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:30.37)
  • Matthew Link (Sparta, N.J.) finished second in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (35.41) and first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:17.65)
  • Tibbets claimed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle (24.70)
  • Naturale took first in the 100 Yard Freestyle (58.13)
  • Roberts finished first in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:01.32) and second in the 100 Yard IM (1:03.23)
  • The relay team of Tibbetts, McEneaney, Naturale and Roberts took second in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:38.41)

Women's Meet Highlights:

  • Julie Cavanaugh (Mendon, Mass.) finished first in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:31.22) 
  • Kaitlyn Reny (Lewiston, Maine) took second in the 50 Yard Backstroke (35.28) and qualified in the 100 Yard Breaststroke by finishing second with a time of 1:21.21
  • Amber Durant (Mansfield, Mass.) took third in the 50 Yard Backstroke (37.23) and second in the 100 Yard Backstroke 

Up Next: The qualifying Mariners will head to the NEISDA Championships beginning on Thursday, February 21 at MIT.
