CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer fell to New England College on Saturday night, 1-0 in North Atlantic Conference action.

The Pilgrims got on the board early in the second half, scoring the only goal of the game to claim the victory on a goal by Michaela Pomeroy. The Mariners outshot the Pilgrims 8-5 in the final half, but could not find the back of the net. Makayla Lewis (Purcellville, Va.) led the Mariners with five shots, including three shots on goal. 

Maine Maritime's Maggie McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) tallied eight saves in net in the loss, while New England College's Mackenzie Meegan stopped all six shots she faced.

The Mariners fall to 3-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the NAC and will return to action next weekend at Lyndon on Saturday, October 1, at 2:30 p.m. in a NAC matchup. The Pilgrims improve to 6-2 on the season, and 1-1 in conference play.
