Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Husson saw eight players score, including three with hat tricks, as the Eagles dealt an 18-4 defeat to Maine Maritime in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's lacrosse contest on Tuesday.
Husson improved to 4-4 overall and 4-3 in the NAC. Maine Maritime slipped to 1-7 (1-3 NAC).
Ali Staab led all scorers with four goals, while Mattie Russell and Amanda Deshaies each chipped in with a hat trick and an assist. Rashell Saucier and Michaela Bicknell both scored twice and assisted on another in the victory.
Alissa Fallon started the scoring early on, cashing in on a Bicknell pass to put the Eagles in front inside of the first two minutes. That marker sparked a five-goal run that saw Husson cash in on three free position shots. The Eagles went 6-of-11 from the eight-meter line.
Ally Fuehrer briefly stopped the run with the first of her two on the day to get the Mariners on the board, but Husson answered with four-straight, including three in a row from Staab.
Husson outshout Maine Maritime 38-16. Ashlee Knight stopped nine shots for Maine Maritime. Abby Greenleaf and Jess Poulin split duty in the Husson circle, combining for seven saves. Greenleaf recorded two stops in the first half, while Poulin collected the balance.
