WHITINGHAM, Vt. – Maine Maritime Academy Men's Cross Country Freshman Zachary Kinsman (Lebanon, N.H.) led the Mariners to a sixth place overall team finish at the NAC Championship on Sunday at Castleton.
Kinsman placed 13th overall, and was the second NAC Rookie to cross the finish line with a time of 27:30, just three seconds behind NEC freshman Korey Hunt who placed 11th.
Chase Hughes (Yarmouth, Maine) finished 22nd overall with his time of 28:28, Wyatt LaPage (Portsmouth, N.H.) placed 32nd and Chase Reidelbach (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished 37th. Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) and Spencer Boonstra (Amston, Conn.) finished back-to-back in 41st and 42nd place respectively.
Lyndon State College claimed the 2014 North Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Championship for the sixth time in seven years after scoring 38 points with four runners in the top ten, including the individual winner of the race senior Tyler Scheibenpflug, who crossed the finish line at 25:27. The 8K championship race included 104 total runners, representing 10 schools.
Colby-Sawyer sophomore Brandon Legendre finished 37 ticks behind Scheibenpflug with a time of 26:04, while Charger teammate senior Hayden Bunnell, finished third with a time of 26:17.
The Mariners will return to action this Saturday, November 8th at the ECAC Championships at Westfield State.
