CASTINE, Maine – Men's cross country competed in two different races Saturday, dividing the team up between the Keene State College Invitational and the Colby College Invitational.
Keene State College Invitational
The Mariners placed seventh among 11 teams at Keene, with a combined team total of 201 points.
Zachary Kinsman (Lebanon, N.H.) was the top finisher for Maine Maritime with a time of 28:51, placing 24
th among all runners, 22
nd among team runners.
Chase Hughes (Yarmouth, Maine) placed 43
rd among all runners, followed by
Wyatt LaPage (Portsmouth, N.H.) who placed 49th.
Brandeis University claimed the overall team victory with 30 points, placing the top two runners; Jarret Harrigan who finished the five-mile course with a time of 26:33 and Ryan Stender, finishing a second behind at 26:34.
Colby College Invitational
The Mariners placed fourth among four teams at the Colby Invitational.
Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) placed 17th overall to pace the Mariners with a time of 31:50.41. Nate Fitzpatrick (Brewer, Maine) placed 42nd with his 35:29.32 time, and Ryan Donlon (Saco, Maine) finished right behind that in 43rd place, with a time of 35:30.72
Colby College clinched the overall team victory, placing three out of the top four runners. Jeff Tucker from the Colby Nordic team finished first with his time of 28:55.27.
Maine Maritime returns to action on October 18th when they will compete in the State of Maine Championship at the University of Maine at Farmington.
