BRISTOL, R.I. -- Maine Maritime competed in the ECAC Championship Saturday at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island. The field consisted of six nationally ranked teams and the Mariners placed 38th out of 46 teams.
Williams placed the top three runners to win the team race ahead of Tufts, Amherst, Colby and Middlebury. Cole Townsend topped the field of 327 runners by finishing the 8K race in 25:43.
Chase Hughes was the Mariners top finisher by navigating the course in 30:06. Spencer Boonstra finished in 30:39, Kyle Huston crossed in 30:48, Nate Fitzpatrick in 30:50 and Paul Ferreira in 31:22.
The Mariners return to action Saturday at the NCAA Division III Regionals at Southern Maine.
