PORTLAND, Maine -- Maine Maritime's men's cross country team finished 28th, out of 50 teams, at the NCAA Division III Regionals Saturday at Southern Maine. The Mariners improved 16 places from their 44th place finish last season.
Williams, sparked by a second and third place finish, won the team race. Middlebury, MIT, Tufts and Bates rounded out the top five teams.
Maine Maritime senior Matt Methot finished the 8K course in 25:49.51 to place 44th in a field of 366 runners. Connecticut College senior Michael LeDuc won the event in 24:21.03.
Vijay Kataria placed 159th in 27:44.88, George Morrison finished in 28:40.78 and Wyatt LaPage crossed in 29:02.85 for Maine Maritime. Cameron Roy finished in 29:35.65 to round out the Mariners scoring. Chase Reidelbach and Victor Skorapa also competed for Maine Maritime.
