UNITY, Maine -- Paced by Vijay Kataria's (Grassy Creek, N.C.) eighth place finish, Maine Maritime Academy ran to third among the five scoring teams at the Unity College Invitational on Saturday. Seven schools fielded 41 runners at the event.
Kataria ran a 30:10 to finish 2:11 off of Colby's Thomas Grylka championship pace. Grylka led the Mules, who placed seven runners in the top 10, to the meet championship.
Kataria's fellow freshman, Chase Reidelbach (Virginia Beach, Va.), finished in 12th place logging a 31:43, while Riley Wentworth (Oakland, Maine) notched a 20th place time of 33:20. Joseph Osmond (Lisbon, Maine) placed 22nd in 33:20.5, while Kyle Houston (Washburn, Maine) rounded out the Mariners' top five with a 33:56 for 24th place.
Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday at the Colby Invitational.
