GORHAM, Maine – Cameron Roy (Orrington, Maine) ran the five-mile course at the Maine Collegiate Cross Country Championships in 29:32 for an 86th place finish in the field of 166 runners. His efforts led Maine Maritime Academy to a seventh place finish in the field of 12 teams.
Bates placed six runners in the top 10 for the meet championship, while Bowdoin produced the individual champion in Samuel Seekins, who clocked a 25:05.
The Mariners' Wyatt LaPage (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished in 90th place overall with a time of 29:38, followed by Vijay Kataria (Grassy Creek, N.C.) in 92nd with a time of 29:42.
Evan Vashon (Waterville, Maine) and Noel Deserres-Gauthier (Dover, N.H.) completed the Mariners' top five with respective finishes in 102nd and 112th places. Vashon raced a 30:29, while Deserres-Gauthier posted a 30:53.
Maine Maritime returns to action next weekend, hosting the Mariner Invitational at Bucksport High School. The men's race gets underway at 11:45 a.m.
