Mariners Finish 2nd at UMF, Methot Takes Top Honors

The Maine Maritime Men's Cross Country team finished in second place at the UMF Invitational on Saturday. Matt Methot (Portland, ME) won the men's race with a time of 21:13.5 while Greg Baribault (Amston, CT) and Lucas Miller (Belfast, ME) each finished in the top 10.

 

The Nor'Easters from the University of New England (30 points) won the team crown placing five runners in the top 10, with Maine Maritime (50 points), the University of Maine at Farmington (57) and St. Joseph's College (98) completed the team competition.

Maine Maritime's Matthew Methot (Portland, Maine) toured the 6K course in 21:13.5 to take the individual crown. UNE's Brandon Mulligan (Westfield, Mass.) at 21:46.92 and Farmington's Pat Pozzetti (Portland, Conn.) at 22:09.78 came in behind Methot. MMA's Greg Baribault finished in 6th (22:25.49) while Lucas Miller placed 8th with a time of 22:36.56.

 

Evan Vashon (Waterville, ME) and Matthew Francis (Belfast, ME) finished 24th and 25th while Noel Desaussier Gauthier and Patrick Lindsey (Winthrop, ME) finished 32nd and 45th respectively for the Mariners.
