BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The Maine Maritime Academy men's cross
country team placed fourth out of nine teams at the UNE
Invitational held Saturday morning at Rotary Park.
The University of Southern Maine finished with five
runners in the top eight to come away with the team honors after
amassing 24 points. The Nor'easters were second at 74 points,
followed by Lyndon State College (79) in third and MMA (97) in
fourth. USM's John Vallo won the race with a 8,000-meter time of
27:54.
Junior Matthew Methot (Portland, ME) placed third overall with a
time of 28:22 to lead the Mariners. Classmate Greg
Baribault (Amston, CT) broke the Top 20 with a time of
30:08 to grab 19th place.
Also scoring for UNE were Lucas Miller
(Belfast, ME), Evan Vashon
(Waterville, ME), and Noel
Deserres-Gauthier (Dover, NH).
