Lady Mariners Roll Over Clippers 78-38

Castine, ME - The Lady Mariners from Maine Maritime defeated the Clippers from UMaine Machias 78-38 in a non-conference match-up Wednesday evening. Sam Goda (Eliot, ME) led all scorers with 19 points in just 19 minutes of action.

 

The Lady Mariners jumped out to a 25-3 advantage over the Clippers in the first 8 minutes of the game before Machias closed to half on a 14-10 run. MMA increased their 35-17 halftime lead to 26 points just four minutes into the second stanza and never looked back as they cruised to a 30-point victory. 

 

The Lady Mariners had 13 players score in the game and dished out 22 assists on 30 field goals. Goda led MMA with 11 rebounds to go along with her 19 points while Jess Stahl (Bowdoin, ME) came off the bench to score 10 points and grab nine rebounds. Courtney Dufour (Augusta, ME) scored 12 points in her first collegiate start and went 4-for-5 from beyond the three point line. Casey McCloskey (Howland, ME) dished out a team high six assists and collected four steals. 

 

Jamyriah Mcpherson led the Clippers with 11 points while Kayla Wood and Emma LeGallais each chipped in with 10 each. LeGallais led the Clippers with six steals and chipped in with six rebounds. 

 

MMA will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Bowdoin College for a 2pm tip while the Clippers are off until January 4th when they travel to St. Thomas.
