Mass.—Collen Hart (Needham, Mass.) finished with a game-high
21 points for Tufts (7-1), leading the Jumbos to 61-43 victory over
Maine Maritime (2-4). Tufts will face Regis College in the Park
Lodge Tournament Championship game scheduled for Dec. 13 at 3:00
pm.
Joining Hart in double figures was Kate Barnosky (Huntington
Station, N.Y.) with 14 points. Hart shot 67 percent from the field
(8-of-12), and made five of her six three pointers on the night.
Barnosky was 6-of-9 from the floor (67 percent), and was perfect
from the free throw line (2-of-2).
The Mariners Sam Goda (Eliot, Maine) finished with a team high 14
points. Maine Maritime controlled the boards for much of the game,
finishing with 40 total rebounds. Goda had nine total boards for
the Mariners.
Tufts out-shot the Mariners in both periods. The Jumbos shot
better than 42 percent from the floor, compared to Maine Maritime's
23 percent in the first period. For the game Tufts finished with 44
percent to the Mariners 30 percent.
Tufts held Maine Maritime to just 19 first half points. The
Mariners opened the second half with the intent on closing the
Jumbos lead.
Maine Maritime tallied 24-second half points, and held Tufts to
31.
Maine Maritime will play in the consolation game versus Framingham
State College at 1:00 pm. Tufts will take on Regis College in the
championship game at 3:00 pm.
